Weekend Frivolities

Hoo Farm, Calcutts House, Ironbridge, food poisoning ๐Ÿคฎ & sheep ๐Ÿ‘ not goats!

It’s been a bit of a mixed bag this weekend. The weather as we were travelling was quite frankly horrendous and scary. I’ve never seen so much rain, and have to give a massive shout out to Paul for getting us there and back safely when visibility was so poor.

Our hotel ๐Ÿฉ Calcutts House was super cute, but the food poisoning that Paul suffered from the local pub was hideous! Needless to say he won’t be ordering chicken from a pub again. He really was terribly ill, and I felt so bad that there was nothing I could do for him ๐Ÿ™Thankfully Paul had perked up a little for our afternoon trip to Ironbridge and the rain mercifully held off for a few hours.

Our visit to Hoo Farm was amazing, and I showed rather blatantly that I am 100% a city girl when I couldn’t tell the difference between a sheep and a goat ๐Ÿ˜‚ it had horns, I thought it was a chuffing goat! The lady at the farm had a good laugh at me though ๐Ÿคฃ

I tricked Paul’s Dad and his partner Carol by pretending to be the Avon lady. Neither of them recognised me with my glasses on. We had a lovely stay with them though – when they finally let me in.

I received a lovely email from somebody that found my book ‘Lost’ at Ironbridge, which really made my day.

Our journey home was just as bad weatherwise, with the rain pouring none stop. There was also a very serious accident on the M62 which caused major delays. I hope that the driver is okay as the air ambulance was at the scene. Sending love their way.

It’s nice to be home, and I am definitely looking forward to sleeping in our bed. There really is no place like home.
